Business breakfast: Tax news for pharmaceutical companies

On February 5, a joint business breakfast of Mazars and the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations (SPFO) on "Tax News for Pharmaceutical Companies" was held in the Mazars office.

On February 5, a joint business breakfast of Mazars and the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations (SPFO) on "Tax News for Pharmaceutical Companies" was held in the Mazars office.

The speakers were Mazars experts Alexander Grinko, Tax Dispute Resolution manager, and Anton Levdonskiy, Tax manager. Alexey Shvyndenkov, Head of Tax and Legal Department, opened the event and answered the audience's questions jointly with the speakers.

Within the declared topic, the following aspects were addressed:

  1. Court case law on tax litigations of pharmaceutical companies: transactions with the “bad-faith” taxpayers, intra-group cross-country transactions (marketing, registration services, bonuses), other litigations (seizure of documents, prolonging the field tax audits’ terms).
  2. VAT taxation of electronic services: the latest amendments and expectations for 2020. Key changes in tax legislation since 2020.
  3. Tax authorities’ approach to encourage taxpayers to increase it’s tax liabilities.

Approximately 30 people attended the business breakfast, including our clients and representatives of other major pharmaceutical companies.
