Starting from January 1st, 2020 in the Russian Federation there is implemented a system of electronic labor books (i.e. recording of information on employment activity in electronic form, hereinafter “ELB”).
From January 1st, 2020 employers are obliged to report to the Russian Pension Fund about employment activity of their employees not later than the 15th day of a month following the
reporting month. Based on the relevant information there will be created ELBs of the employees. The relevant data for reporting includes information on hiring for a job, transferring to another job, dismissal and submitting of the notifications to continue maintaining paper labor book or submitting the information on employment activity in electronic form (maintaining ELBs) by the employees.
